Abstract
Blood tests, hair follicle tests and vet examinations were performed on 3 separate horses before and after QEnergySpa, BEFE sessions. All 3 horses were selected due to various complaints making them unable to race as expected. These trials were done partly to gauge the effectiveness of the QEnergySpa, BEFE sessions on larger mammals and partly to illustrate its effectiveness across all living matter. All trials showed remarkable improvements after QEnergySpa, BEFE sessions.

Dear Sir/Madam, On the 19th of April 2002 I, Lindsay B McNaught, examined the horse presented to me as “Kid Courage” and branded crown VF dot over 22 over 5 on the near shoulder. The horse was not in work upon the last examination, has not been in work and was not in work at the time of this examination. A full clinical examination did not reveal any abnormalities as a horse that is being spelled is unlikely to show signs of soreness or problems. On the previous blood test there was a slightly higher urea level which has now returned to within the normal range and there was an elevated globulin level which has also returned to within the normal range on this blood test collected on the 18th of April 2002. The red blood cell level was within the normal range for a spelling horse but would be considered a little low for a horse that was in full race training. There was no indication of infection in the white blood cells. The horse appeared to have put on weight since the last examination.

[Vet Examination of Ditto Prior to QEnergySpa, BEFE Sessions]EASTWOOD HOUSE VETERINARY SURGERY 51 Margaret Street Lindsay B. McNaught B.V. Sc. Q-Tech Laboratories
Dear Sir/Madam, On the 8th march 2002 I, Lindsay B. McNaught, examined the horse presented to me as “Ditto” (Coloured Quest 98/Maldini) and branded on the near shoulder crown VF over 17 over 8. Examination revealed that the horse had sharp teeth with cuts in its mouth and the teeth were in need of floating. The horse had a heart rate of 39 B.P.M at rest and normal lung and gut sounds. There was no palpable pain in the neck, withers or back but the horse was lacking muscle along the top line of the back and the hind quarters, as though he had not been using these muscles properly. The horse was shin sore in the near fore cannon and there were small splints on the medical aspect of both cannons which were not painful. The right testicle was back to front but was not causing any problems at the time of examination. The horse was in need of shoeing. A full blood count revealed that the horse had an elevated AST and CK with the AST being 604 and the CK being 207 which is indicative of the horse having trouble with “tying up” which I believe would be effecting his performance. The bicarbonate level was a little bit low at 26.6, but still within the normal range. The red and white blood cell levels were normal with a reasonable ratio between the neutrophils and lymphocytes. No other abnormalities were found in the blood.

[Vet Examination Following a Full Cycle of QEnergySpa, BEFE Sessions]EASTWOOD HOUSE VETERINARY SURGERY 51 Margaret Street Lindsay B. McNaught B.V. Sc. Q-Tech Laboratories
Dear Sir/Madam,
On the 18th of April 2002 I, Lindsay B. McNaught, re-examined the horse presented to me as “Ditto” and branded Crown VF dot over 17 over 8 on the near shoulder. The horse had previously been examined on the 8th of March and since then the coat was significantly darker with a deep sheen to it. The horse had a heart rate of 38b.p.m at rest and normal lung and gut sounds. Examination of the musculo-skeletal system did not reveal any problems. At the previous examination the horse was lacking muscle along the top line of the back and hindquarters. At the time of this examination there was a significant increase in the amount of muscle in this region but there was still room for further improvement. The horse had previously been shin sore in the near fore cannon and at this examination there did not appear to be any pain at all in the near fore cannon and no other areas showed soreness. A full blood count was preformed on the 18th of April 2002 and showed a continuation of the problem shown on the first blood test in which the AST was 750 which indicated that the horse is still having a continuous problem with tying up. The calcium level on this blood test was on the lower edge of normal resulting in the calcium/phosphorus ratio being too high. The potassium level was only 2.7 which is below optimum level for a good performance. The red blood cell and the white blood cell levels were within the normal range with a good ratio between the neutrophils and the lymphocytes. No other abnormalities were detected.

[Vet Examination of Kid Courage Prior to QEnergySpa, BEFE Sessions]EASTWOOD HOUSE VETERINARY SURGERY 51 Margaret Street Lindsay B. McNaught B.V. Sc. Q-Tech Laboratories
Dear Sir/Madam, The horse showed no problems in the mouth and eyes. The horse had a resting heart rate of 35 B.P.M., normal lung and gut sounds. The horse had soreness in the right side of the neck and lower neck on both sides, in the wither, both sacroiliac’s and siatic nerves. The horse was sore in the heels of both front feet, worse on the off fore medial heel due to bruising from the trauma of concussion on the ground during racing and work. It is quite possible that this is the underlying problem resulting in the horse adjusting and so putting itself “out” in the neck, back and sacroiliac region. I do believe that these problems would have a significant effect on the abitily of the horse to race to its full potential. A full blood count revealed that the bilirubin was slightly elevated which is indicative of the fact that the liver is not clearing the break down of red blood cells as efficiently as it could and some antioxidants would be indicated to assist in this process. The AST is at a level of 363 which I do not believe is high enough to be effecting the horses performance. The electrolytes and minerals tested were all within the normal range. The red blood cell level and the red blood cell/white blood cell ratio was good for a racing horse, with a good neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio amongst the white blood cells. This is quite a good blood count for a race horse except for the slightly elevated bilirubin. Lindsay B. McNaught B.V.Sc. |

[Vet Examination Following QEnergySpa, BEFE Sessions]EASTWOOD HOUSE VETERINARY SURGERY 51 Margaret Street Lindsay B. McNaught B.V. Sc. Q-Tech Laboratories
Dear Sir/Madam, On the 18th of April 2002 I, Lindsay B. McNaught, examined the horse presented to me as “Magnetic Mayor” branded L bar inverted V on the near shoulder and 3 over 7 on the off shoulder. The horse had been previously examined on the 18th of March 2002 and at that stage had significant problems in the neck, wither, sacro-iliac and sciatic nerves. On this examination the horse was relaxed in the muscles with no tension in the neck, wither and only very slight reaction in the sacro-iliac region with no pain in the sciatic nerves at all. At the time of the previous examination the horse had severe bruising in the heels of both front feet and upon this examination the hoof testers only revealed a vey slight reaction in the inside heels of both front feet. The amount of pain elicited would not effect the horses ability in racing and the amount of pain in the foot has decreased since last examination. The horses coat is very shiny and sleek and has become darker in colour which is usually an indication of well being. The rest of the clinical examination did not reveal any problems with the horse. A resting heart rate was taken and found to be 41 b.p.m. A full blood count revealed that the kidney and live functions were within the normal range. The AST level in this blood test was slightly elevated at a level of 632 and the CK level was 254, both of which are elevated indicating that there may be some muscle problems associated with a slight tying up problem. The mineral and electrolyte levels were normal and the bi-carbonate level had increased slightly from 27.7 to 28.6 which is within the normal range. The red blood cells were at 9.9 which are at a good level for racing and a white cell count of 7.7 which is within the normal range for racing horses with a good differential between neutraphils and lymphocytes. This is a good blood count apart from the fact that there is slight muscle damage associated with tying up. Lindsay B. McNaught B.V.Sc. |
